Kid CallCard- Why it Works
- Ten years ago, an estimated 1 in 10 Americans carried a mobile phone. Today in 2009, approximately 3 out of 4 adults 18 and over carry cell phones. The Kid CallCard takes advantage of this technological proliferation! Ten years ago, the concept of having a “call card” for your child would not have been too practical. But nowadays, IT'S VERY PRACTICAL, which makes The Kid CallCard a logical, common sense, “must-have” item for any parent with young children.
-
PROTECT yourself and your child with The Kid CallCard!
Kid CallCard- How it Works
- Properly prepared with the tool, The Kid CallCard, and having a PLAN OF ACTION, (through practice and rehearsal), your lost child simply asks a uniformed Police Officer or a "mommy with children" if they can call the chaperon from whom your child is separated. The child hands the “adult helper” The Kid CallCard, a call is made to the appropriate individual, and the reunion process begins! Minutes later, your lost child is back where they belong. The outing isn't completely ruined by your child's whereabouts not being known for an extended amount of time, and it's back to the “fun time” which was previously planned!

Kid CallCard- Practice and Rehearsal
Practicing with your child on executing the function of The Kid CallCard is essential for the idea to work. You can't just hand your child the card, and say, “O.K., let's get going.” Practicing how The Kid CallCard works can be both fun and rewarding for you and your child. Not only does a practice session show your child how fast, easy, and simple it is to reunite with their parent/chaperon, but it also introduces them, at an early age, to the basics of Problem Solving Skills. Some suggestions to consider sharing with your child:
- First, tell them to try and find a uniformed Police Officer to make the call for them.
- If they can't find a Police Officer, tell them to try and ask a "mommy with children" or a “lady” for help. (Although this may sound sexist, a woman is going to show a more naturally, “motherly concern” for a lost child than, say, your average Joe.)
- Excepting a uniformed Police Officer, instruct them to ALWAYS STAY IN THEIR LOCATION and DO NOT leave with any adult UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. (Explain to your child that you will come to them, rather than them coming to you.)
Being former children ourselves, we know that KIDS LIKE TO IMITATE ADULTS. They see a grown-up thing, and they want to be part of it. Showing your child the Drivers License or State ID you carry, and then comparing its importance with the importance of your child carrying The Kid CallCard, is the second and final step to assuring your child will actually want to have their card (with their name on it) with them for all large outings. Kid CallCard- Special Note for the Grandparents
If your parents are like ours, for reasons scientists and doctors have not yet figured out, the majority of them prefer to keep their cell phones ALWAYS TURNED OFF. Please remind them, when they pick up your child to go to the zoo or wherever, for The Kid CallCard to be effective, their cell phone must be turned ON. Thank you! Back to top
